Code Green USA continues to develop Model Zoning and Land Development Codes.  These
may address a specific code section, such as solar access, or multiple sections or chapters.
Sometimes a draft ordinance is needed.  Generally this work is completed in close
coordination with our client's attorney.

This aspect of Code Green USA's expertise has its origins in our planners' in-depth
experience in crafting zoning codes, applications, overlays and land development regulations
for local governments and large-scale development projects .  Recognizing inadequacies in
current codes and/or following up on the results of our "Green Audits", our current focus
relates to developing green and sustainable land use plans, zoning and land development
codes.

These model codes are drafted for a regional or county agency's use and for them to
recommend for the local governments within their boundaries.  While each code is designed
as a model, specific sections may be highlighted where options are available address today’s
energy and climate change issues.  Often the best recommendation is to utilize an existing
code, adjusted to address local conditions and concerns.  Code Green USA maintains an
extensive catalogue of existing ordinances and regularly update that database.
